Our aims are to ensure all students have an enjoyable experience that helps them to succeed, enriches their lives and enables them to develop the skills and positive attitudes to go onto the next stage in their lives.
This short guide is designed to help parents or guardians support their son/daughter throughout his or her time in the Sixth Form. We are a school and not a college. We work within school guidelines to provide a structured environment whilst developing the independence and self discipline of the students during the years they are with us.
If you have any concerns or enquires do not hesitate to contact the school immediately.

All students should be at school by 8.50 am and remain until school finishes at 3.30 pm (3.40 pm on Wednesday).
Lunchtime is at 12.40 pm (1.10 pm on Wednesday) and the afternoon sessions starts at 1.20 pm (1.50 pm on Wednesday).
All students must attend registration with their tutors at 8.55 pm and 1.20 pm everyday. Having a non teaching lesson first thing in the morning or afternoon is not an excuse for missing registration. Registration enables us to know who is on site and to give vital information and messages to students. Registration attendance also helps to establish good work patterns.
The school always comments on attendance and lateness in any reference.
If a student is absent please ring Attendance Office on 01305 266064 Extn 116. You must give us details and please keep us informed on each further day of absence.
When a student returns he/she will be asked to explain the absence. In some circumstances the tutor will ask parents for a written explanation or in the event of a long term absence a doctor’s note.
We will always contact parents about any concerns we have about absences.
If a student feels ill during the school day they must report to the Sixth Form Office. Mrs Deremaux will, if necessary, arrange for you to go home.
If a student needs to be absent from school for any reason (e.g. Doctor’s appointment, family circumstances, University visit) they must collect a leave of absence form from the office and complete and return it, including a parent’s signature.
The School does not give permission for absence for holidays during term time. You should discuss any request for time off for a family holiday with a Year Co-ordinator.
Please refer to and download the Parent's Guide above for the complete guide.
