We are delighted to announce that Mr Michael Foley has been appointed Headteacher of the Thomas Hardye School and will take up his post on September 1st 2011.

Mr Foley is at present Headteacher of Great Cornard Upper School and Technology College in Suffolk, a post he has held since 2002.

I am sure you will join all of us at the school in offering him our warmest congratulations. We look forward to working with him very much from the start of the Autumn Term.

Further Information

Mr Foley is has been Head of Great Cornard Upper School, Suffolk  since  2002, having previously also worked at other schools in the Suffolk area.  He has received the SSAT Award for improvement  in GCSE Results (2007-9). In addition, Great Cornard had the top performing sixth form for Suffolk in 2009/10. He is an Ofsted trained Inspector and has spoken at a number of National Conferences.

Mr Foley is 49 years old, married to Teresa and has 4 children (aged 9-16). He is a very keen sports enthusiast, especially enjoying skiing and football. He was educated at St Mary’s College, University of London (BA) and also at the University of Cambridge (MEd). He is also a very keen Crystal Palace fan!

Staff and Governors are delighted at the appointment and look forward to Mr Foley taking the school on to a new era.
