The Thomas Hardye School is a 13-18 mixed comprehensive school with 2300 on roll including 800 in the Sixth Form. It is a part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust. Teacher of Science

We require, from September, a qualified teacher of science. A particular specialism in physics or chemistry would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Teacher of Geography

We require an outstanding teacher of geography for next September. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons and achieving excellent results for your students, instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn. A willingness to teach throughout years 9 to 13, and to offer a second subject will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with a good sense of humour, and the drive and energy to thrive in this outstanding school. The post would particularly suit an NQT or someone relatively early in their career.

Teacher of Design Technology (Resistant Materials/Product Design)

We require a well-qualified and highly motivated teacher to join the Design Department. You will be committed to outstanding standards in teaching and learning and have a passion for working with young people. You will have excellent subject knowledge, with the ability to teach Design and Technology Resistant Materials up to Key Stage 4 and Product Design up to Key Stage 5. The ability to teach one other Design and Technology area would be an advantage.

The Design Department offers a range of courses at GCSE and A Level in specialised and well-resourced accommodation. It is a vibrant and dynamic team providing all learners with an exciting range of experiences.

Science Technician

Contracted Hours:Permanent, 37 hours per week, term-time only plus two weeks
Starting Salary:Grade 5, Point 4 – £9.81 per hour, £18933 per annum (£16630 per annum pro rata)

A part-time Science Technician is required for the Science Department at The Thomas Hardye School. The School is a designated Teaching School with approximately 180 teaching staff, over 2200 students including 800 students in the Sixth Form.

Duties will include preparation and maintenance of Science experimental apparatus and resources for lessons as part of our technical team.

Previous experience as a school laboratory technician would be an advantage but training will be provided on site by our technical staff.

We require a Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team at The Thomas Hardye School to work with students aged 13-18, with learning and/or physical difficulties. We are an inclusive school and we currently have two resourced provisions, one for supporting young people with complex communication needs and the other for supporting young people with physical difficulties.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people
  • Good at building relationships with young people and other adults
  • Qualified at least to level 2 (grade C or above at GCSE) in English and Maths
  • Able to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable, flexible, proactive and relentlessly optimistic
