Autumn Term

All new students joining the Thomas Hardye School CCF will initially join the Army Section, irrespective of whether they eventually wish to be part of the Army Section or RAF Section, and will undergo basic military training, common to both services for the first term.

The new ‘recruits’ will be organised into three Recruit sections run by a cadet NCO and training will include:

Drill, Turnout and Military Knowledge training

CCF montage

Fieldcraft training

Map and Compass and Expedition training

First Aid training

Skill at Arms training and Shooting

Physical training

At the end of the Autumn Term all recruits will be assessed in their understanding of the different subjects to date, and on successful completion will be promoted to cadet, inducted into either the Army Section or RAF Section and awarded their respective cap badges.
