Josh, Charlie are both Year 11 students and Fionn is a Year 10 student who attend the school’s Electronics STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Club. They have successfully designed, built and programmed a black-line following robot. Such devices are found in industry, for example in the warehouses of online and mail order companies for automated stock picking and delivery systems.
Using plastic building bricks, two motors and wheels and cogs to build a vehicle, they devised the wiring and sensing to make it work. Each of the three was responsible for a different area of the project. [More]

The Thomas Hardye School Music Department is celebrating after a record breaking year for students receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge. Hettie Burn has received an offer to read Music at Worcester College, Oxford, and Martin Weston has received an offer to read Music at Robinson College, Cambridge.[More]
On Tuesday 17th January, Thomas Hardye was visited by noted author Marcus Sedgwick. Marcus is a much admired and successful author of young adult fiction. [More]
On the 6th and 7th of January, a group of twelve students visited Hilfield Friary in Cerne Abbas from the Friday evening to Saturday afternoon, which, as always, was a very enjoyable visit for all who went. [More]
DASP students have been passing their own Olympic Torch from school to school over the last couple of months. At the start of the Spring term it was Thomas Hardye’s turn, having received the Torch from Dorchester Middle School before Christmas. [More]
