Acclaimed novelist, critic & journalist Will Self visits THS

Acclaimed novelist, critic & journalist Will Self visit to THSOn Thursday 12th November the acclaimed novelist, critic and journalist Will Self visited The Thomas Hardye School to discuss his novel "Dorian" and Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray". During his lecture to the school's sixth form he discussed the political and social importance of the novels whilst explaining and deconstructing the way he writes his fiction and the influences on his imagination. During the afternoon Will explained some of the techniques, motivations and ideas that feed his imagination and discussed the process of writing Dorian in a seminar with those students studying his novel as Year 13 Coursework. We Will Remember Them

We Will Remember ThemOn Wednesday 11th of November 2009, more than 2500 students, staff and guests assembled in tribute to honour former students who have given their lives in war. The event is an annual tradition maintained at the school in honour of all soldiers who have died or are still serving in the name of our country.[More & Image Gallery]

On 14th October students and staff at Thomas Hardye School took part in a variety of different Drawing Workshops hosted by the Art department as part of the 10th BIG DRAW Campaign for Drawing which happens nationally during the month of October each year.
